You guysssss. You guys! This month'sĀ chronicleĀ marks one whole year of writing my newsletter zine! I'm really proud that I've sustained this project for this long (with no plans to stop) and I want to thank each and every one of y'all for your support. I wouldn't do it without y'all. Writing a monthly newsletter zine has transformed my artistic process, and I'll have more to say about that in a big main blog post soon, but for now... this month's mail!Ā
In celebration of ā° one year °ā Ā of the Snail Mail Society, this month's mail is JAM PACKED. With EXTRAS! I really wanted to get custom sharpies made, but it turns out that you can only get custom sharpies if you order hundreds at a time, so I had to pivot from that idea. But I still came up with some cool stuff to send y'all:
- All tiers, in addition to this month's newsletter zine, are getting a rainbow holo snail sticker! When I was packing up these stickers, I realized that this snail sorta looks like Shrek. He's a Shrail? A Snek?Ā
- All tiers are also gettingĀ Word Salad, a collab zine I created with other members of the KC Zine Club at our April meeting. That month's theme was knives/salads (because of Cesar and the Ides of March, and because our March meeting that was due to haveĀ that themeĀ got cancelled due to a tornado.) Anyway, at April's meeting, we all wrote down favorite song lyrics and quotes on scrap paper, then cut out each word and piled them up and gave them a shuffle. We each took a pinch of the words and used them to create strange cut-up poetry. This zine is the result!
- Sustainer and Star tiers are also getting this month's playlist (ofc!), andĀ Nurses, a riso print I made of the artwork I created for this anti-AI editorial on Razorcake's website.
- And Stars are also getting 2 more mini zines! This month's movie review mini is a double feature:Ā Welcome to the Dollhouse andĀ Wiener-Dog.
I also just completed a new mini perzine calledĀ Baby BirdĀ about home and the birds that nest on my front porch. I'm super proud with how this one turned out... the cover looks just as I envisoned it in my head, and I got to work on the layout for it at Zine Club, and heard some good feedback on it from my friends there.
Extra copies of this one will be hitting the shop when I have a moment to scan it and blurb it and all that jazz.

That's all for now, folks. Thank you for supporting my zine-making!
